Giselle’s legal career has been shaped by a series of meaningful milestones and a broad mix of experience. After being admitted in 2015, she spent her first three years working in banking and finance law before moving into property law, where she drafted and reviewed contracts, negotiated terms with stakeholders, and handled the sale and purchase of various real estate assets.

She later worked at a strata and construction law firm, dealing with complex disputes and litigation. Giselle has represented Owners Corporations, builders, and developers in matters involving defects, contract issues, and regulatory compliance. She is skilled in alternative dispute resolution, including mediation, and is known for achieving practical and cost-effective outcomes. Her work also includes extensive experience preparing clear and robust settlement deeds.

Experience

  • Acting for owners corporations in building defect proceedings before the NSW Civil and Administrative Tribunal and the NSW Supreme Court.
  • Managing building defect disputes on behalf of builders in the NSW Civil and Administrative Tribunal.
  • Advising owners corporations on defect issues, insurance claims, available legal remedies, and applicable limitation periods.
  • Providing guidance to owners corporations, builders, and developers regarding the Home Building Act 1989 and the Design & Building Practitioners Act 2020.
  • Assisting clients with contract negotiations, contractor’s licence application and refusal, Fair Trading complaints, and HBCF insurance matters.
  • Advising stakeholders on the building bond scheme and Project Intervene.
  • Guiding owners corporations on strata governance, including the responsibilities and obligations of a strata scheme.
  • Engaging in alternative dispute resolution processes, including mediation.
  • Preparing and advising on settlement deeds.
